1 . Sky billing”
One of the most common questions asked by customers is "why have I been billed twice by Sky" . This occurs at the start of a Sky subscription . Sky take 1 months subscription and 1 month in advance. When you decide to cancel your contract you will have your last month without charge.

2. How do I reset my box or download new software”
Every now and then your Skybox needs to be reset. If the reset did not help, please repeat it and if the problem still persists, try a hard reset:

  • switch off your Skybox
  • pull the plug for power supply
  • find the button BACKUP at the front panel of the Skybox, press it and hold it pressed
  • with the button BACKUP still held pressed you put in the power plug
  • hold BACKUP pressed until you see all lights at the front panel of the Skybox flash for about 2 sec

Release BACKUP and wait 10 minutes

 3. “Bad picture”
If you encounter freezed frames and pixcelation on just a few channels and everything else is working fine, this is because the channels are on different broadcast units on the satellite called 'transponders'. Some transponders are adjusted to broadcast weaker than others. In order to receive channels from this transponder a bigger dish is required. The same goes when you get the message "no satellite signal is being received" on just a few channels while others work, especially BBC channels and ITV will give such a message if your dish is too small.

4. “ Bad sound”
If you encounter poor or no sound, please make sure the scart cable is connected correctly. If you did not connect your tv via scart but via coax cable, you cannot use the sound of your tv ( unless it is a UK model or a model supporting UK sound norm ), because this outlet is designed for the British sound system. Connect via scart or mute your tv and use the Hi-Fi chinch outlets of the digibox for sound.

This message tells us the box is not getting any signal from the dish. This error is not subscription related. In 90% of cases the fault can be found in the dish/cable/connectors. The also is a slight chance it may be a faulty digibox. Sky digiboxes are not diseq compatible so do not use any type of diseq switch or controller.

5. "There is a problem with your Viewing Card" / “Please Insert VC

Their can be two reasons: either your Viewing Card is damaged, or the card reader of your digibox is faulty. From experience, it is most likely the card reader. Here is what you can do: take the Viewing Card out, turn it upside down and re-insert it. Remove and re-insert it a couple of times, thus cleaning the Viewing Card reader. If this helped, enjoy sky. If not, contact us .
